BELGAUM: The police here have launched an official website --www.belgaumpolice.in -- comprising comprehensive information about the department.
SP Sonia Narang said the website has information about all police stations, circles and sub-divisions in the district, complete with the names of the officials and their phone numbers. People can check the status of their applications regarding passport, job verification, gun licence, etc, through the website.
Information about chain snatchers, robbers, vehicle-lifters and missing people are also available on the website along with pictures. The department will update the site everyday with regard to crimes, public instructions and various programmes undertaken by them. The public can also file complaints through the website and check the actions taken on it, she said.
